Don’t rush the POCSO Act! Advice to the police! DGP Shailendra Babu Action!

CHENNAI: DGP Shailendra Babu has advised the Tamil Nadu police that they should not make arrests in POCSO cases such as marriage and romantic relationship, and instead issue summons and interrogate the adversary and counter-petitioners.The incidents of sexual violence against women are increasing day by day across Tamil Nadu. Especially girls below the age of 18 are getting involved in violent incidents. As such incidents are increasing in Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and other states, the occurrence of these atrocities in Tamil Nadu has scared social activists and parents.
