The Chief Minister inaugurated the new Municipal Corporations.

The Chief Minister inaugurated Tiruvannamalai, Namakkal, Pudukottai and Karaikudi Municipal Corporations.

A bill was passed in the Legislative Assembly to upgrade all the 4 municipalities to Municipal Corporations.

Elevation as a corporation to provide road, drinking water and underground sewerage facilities at par with metropolitan cities.
