Stock market index numbers

Stock market indices, which have seen volatility since the opening of trade in Mumbai, ended lower. The BSE Sensex was down 17 points at 80,865. It fell 269 points to 79,813 during the inter-hour trade Sensex bounced back after falling points. Out of 30 companies in the Sensex index, 19 companies traded higher. National stock market index Nifty closed down 36 points at 24,399.
