Shakti worship is the worship of Shakti, Ambigai, Goddess of the Universe, Goddess Parashakti, the most important of which is the Navratri festival which is celebrated for nine days.
Navratri Puja is the worship of various forms of Ambigai in the evenings from Prathamai to Navami, the day after the new moon in the month of Puratasi.
Saraswati Puja on Navami. Also known as Ayudha Puja. Saraswati is the lord of all our actions and tricks. So on that day all the tools, pens and books in the house should be decorated and be blessed by Goddess Saraswati. The books and weapons stored on that day are not used on that day but are taken out and used on the next day Vijayadashami.
Vijaya Dasami – The tenth day of success. All worshiped instruments, pens and books will be taken away. Any work started on that day will be very successful. It is celebrated as an auspicious day for children to start learning Vidya Upadesa or Aksharapyasam.
There is no fast festival other than Navratri, which is celebrated for ten days at home. This festival celebrated at home can even be called a ‘Brahmotsavam’ for the temple called Veedu.
Navratri is a festival celebrating the pride of women.
A festival that inspires women’s craftsmanship and imagination.
During Navratri, the house is set up as a “kolu” where three, nine or twelve steps are arranged, various types of toys are placed on it, ambika is set up and the house looks like a heavenly world with worship, dance and song.
Navratri worship is for women only. Women of all ages and seasons can participate in Navratri worship.
By worshiping Navratri,
Girls get the benefit of happiness.
Virgins get marriage benefits.
Sumangalis get Mangalaya benefit.
Senior Sumangalis get happiness, satisfaction;
Everyone gets perfect satisfaction.

Puratasi Month Navratri Worship:
Everyone celebrates Navratri in the month of Puratasi with great fervour.
Puratasi month is called Saratkalam.
Sharada Navratri will be celebrated in this season of Navratri. Dussehra is celebrated by adding an extra day to these nine days. Dasam means ten and they celebrate it as a ten-day festival including a night (Dasa+Ra). Chamundeshwari Ambigai in Mysore is specially celebrated.
The Navratri festival begins on Prathamai tithi in the waxing crescent of Puratasi month, the main month of Sarat season and ends with nine tithi and tenth tithi, Dasami tithi.
The puja will be performed only during the Navratri festival night. This pooja is considered to be performed by the gods and worshiped on Navratri at night.
What is day to the gods is night to us. So Navratri is celebrated only at night time.
